Director General Alan Purisima, Philippine National Police chief, visited Lapu-Lapu City and lauded the City Government for its non-stop support to the policemen.

Purisima gave pins to police officers who were given awards for their accomplishments especially against wanted criminals and those involved in illegal drugs. Those who were cited include Police Senior Superintendent Rey Lyndon T. Lawas, Chief Inspector Conrado V. Manatad, SPO1 Nonilo M. Estonilo, PO2 Recto M. Muldez, PO2 Samuel Evalle, PO2 Boots Christopher C. Tanghal, PO2 Regidor B. Bering, PO2 Wilson M. Malnegro, PO1 Rey B. Adriaque, PO1 Estevenson Q. Zozobrado, PO1 Ceasar Vincent T. Figuracion.

“A new police office was constructed with the help of the city government of Lapu-Lapu,” Purisima said. He added that the design of the police station in Lapu-Lapu will be used as model for the other cities.

The PNP director general suggested that the police should set up more checkpoints. The continuing support of
the Lapu-Lapu City Government also made possible the success of the tourist police office.

Purisima is hoping that many other local governments would extend the same support to their policemen.
