The City was able to grow its revenue collection to around 21 percent last year from 7.5 percent in 2013, added the mayor.

According to the City Treasurer’s Office, the local government earned P1.2 billion in 2014. This was a sharp rise from P892 million in 2013 and P833 million in 2012.

Real property and business taxes, economic enterprises, other fees and charges contributed to the increase.

The mayor credited City Hall employees, citing in particular City Treasurer Elenita Catagcatag and her staff, for the steady growth of local income.
